Self-care is important

Self care is a word we hear a lot about when it comes to looking after our wellbeing. We all live busy lives with commitments and responsibilities either in your career or/and personal lives. You can be a mother, father, brother , sister, entrepreneur , employee, etc. You often play more than one role and juggling between these role are challenging. We give everyone around us love and care except for yourself. This leads to burnouts, fatigue and other issues. The truth is you can’t pour and care for those you care about from an empty cup! I have been there multiple times, and my body would force me to slow down. But why mention it now? Because your physical and mental health matter! Without feeling healthy, you will feel unsatisfied and unhappy with your life as it spreads to other areas of your life like relationships and education!

Self-care shows up in your life in different ways that you may have never thought of it as self-care . Saving money is a form of financial self-care to save money for emergencies as well as reduce financial stress. Exercise , healthy eating and sleeping can help you physically recover from fatigue, illness or exhaustion. When talking about the spiritual side of self-care, any spiritual practice that brings you peace counts. These are just a few from the many form of self care you can try to bring in your life!

At end of the day , a little bit of self-care goes a long way! It’s better to start small and build your own self-care habits. The self-care habits I have on my list are journalling, eating healthy food, practicing breath work , meditation and exercising to manage my stress levels and improve my overall health!
